Sonoma Water requires assistance to update its Sanitation Standards, including comprehensive revision to all elements of the Sanitation Standards to: a. Work closely with Sonoma Water counsel and/or Sonoma Water outside counsel to ensure that the Sanitation Standards comply with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and permits. b. Reflect current best management practices and industry standards. c. Promote sanitation infrastructure standards that result in sanitation systems that are: i. Functionally effective ii. Protective of public health and safety. iii. Feasible and cost effective to construct, operate, and maintain. iv. Practical to implement, including through the administrative and quality assurance and quality control procedures associated with the sewer permitting process. d. Align with the provisions of contemporaneously revised Sanitation Codes, such that Sanitation Standards can be integrated as an appendix to the Sanitation Codes. e. Develop a restructured format to promote efficiency and alignment with Sonoma Water’s Construction Specification Institute (CSI) format for Project Manual construction documents.
