Specifications include, but are not limited to: Huntsville City Schools seeks an authorized licensed vendor to recondition all brands of football helmets. If awarded, the vendor must subcontract the reconditioning of helmets to another manufacturer. The awarded vendor must invoice for services rendered. It is incumbent upon the awarded vendor to make payment to the manufacturer. Huntsville City Schools is only authorized to make payments to the awarded vendor. SPECIFICATIONS 1. All helmets shall be inspected at the school prior to shipment to the reconditioning plant. 2. All helmets that are rejected at the plant shall be returned to the district’s athletic department and/or school. 3. The reconditioning process shall constitute at a minimum stripping, sanitizing, replacement hardware, and basic paint. 4. Prices shall include all internal parts, liners, crown, stabilizer, nose pad, jaw pads, standard paint, replacement mask, and any other items needed. 5. All helmets shall be inspected, reconditioned, and certified according to the National Athletic Equipment Reconditioners Association’s (NAERA) guidelines and the requirement of the helmet’s manufacturer.
