Specifications include, but are not limited to: Division of Fleet Operations may select a qualified firm, based on a geographical area, to provide fleet vehicle maintenance and repair services. Contractors are not guaranteed a minimum or maximum amount of work on State fleet vehicles. The State of Utah reserves the right to select a Contractor outside of the multiple award vehicle maintenance contracts when it is determined to be in the State’s best interest due to a State fleet vehicle breakdown and/or immediate need for service. All full service leased vehicles are assigned a preventative maintenance schedule based upon anticipated usage. By following this schedule, vehicles will continue to operate efficiently well past the current 105,000 mile lease. Should a vehicle break down, DFO developed a vehicle repair program that reduces both cost and vehicle down time. All full service leased vehicles have access to the VSC at 855-FLT-UTAH(358-8824). Should a vehicle break down, drivers can call this number and a VSC technician will assist them in arranging towing, finding the right maintenance Contractor and arranging temporary transportation. Awarded vendors will have their locations and services provided added to a map on the division of fleet operations website. Drivers will select vendors within their geographical area that are able to provide services needed. Notes will be taken by the vehicle service center staff on quality and timeliness of service. These notes may positively or negatively affect future work to given locations.
