On July 9, 2024, the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) announced a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for approximately $53 million in funding for the 2024 Local Housing Trust Fund (LHTF) Matching Grant Program. As a provision of this grant program, all LHTF projects awarded by the City of Bakersfield will be matched on a dollar-for-dollar basis with dedicated local funding sources including revenue from the City’s Measure N Public Safety and Vital Services (PSVS) sales tax ordinance. The City of Bakersfield invites qualified and experienced affordable housing developers to submit preliminary proposals for the construction of affordable rental housing projects to support the City’s 2024 LHTF application to the California Department of Housing and Community Development
