Specifications include, but are not limited to: On-Call Snow and Ice Removal from Sidewalks: To be completed at a frequency and extent of on-call services in response to complaints received by Public Works, but not to exceed thirty-five (35) separate parcels in a single 24-hour period. The extent of snow and ice removal will correspond to each parcel’s sidewalk frontage. This will require the use of motorized and non-motorized equipment: snow blowers, shovels, ice chippers, sand, salt and other methods may be needed. Communication • The contractor shall respond to requirements in a timely manner and maintain daily communications with Public Works to address any issues that may arise or to report any problems observed on the job site. The contractor shall ensure its staff is sufficiently trained to provide consistent and professional services. Snow and ice removed from sidewalk frontage are to be placed in the abutting property owner’s front yard or boulevard and not illegally dispersed into city streets. The contractor must communicate with property owners or residents in a respectful and professional manner. Public Works will meet with the contractor at least once per season at the onset of the winter to address any unforeseen issues, but Public Works will be available through the year to answer contractor questions or concerns. Additionally, Public Works will conduct periodic inspections to verify that work is completed in a satisfactory and timely manner.
