Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Nevada City (City) and the Bear Yuba Land Trust (BYLT) are seeking proposals from qualified, experienced contractors to provide all materials, labor and equipment to complete the construction of the Sugarloaf Trail. The project is located on land owned by the City and on private lands where BYLT has secured public trail easements. The lower 400 feet of trail is located on CaITrans Right-of-Way. All work within Caltrans Right-of-Way is subject to the standard requirements of Caltrans Encroachment Permit. From Station 4+00 to 26+42 BYLT has cleared brush and constructed a walkable trail and work under this proposal/contract will be limited to improving the existing trail to the standards contained herein. From Station 26+42 up to Station 41+00 conditions vary, some of the trail corridor has been cleared, however City crews will continue clearing this section. For the purposes of this proposal/bid, the contractor should assume that all portions of the trail need Clear and Grub of the trail bed (to remove tripping hazards). Contractor shall provide additional clearing where designated on the bid schedule (see bid schedule notes). All work for construction of the trail bed including cut/fill slope areas, walls, climbing turns and switchbacks shall be performed in accordance with the Technical Specifications.
