The Mass Cultural Council is seeking proposals from a consultant to work closely with the Cultural Districts Program Officer and other Agency staff to conduct a deep review of all aspects of the Cultural Districts Initiative (CDI), in accordance with our Strategic Plan, to ensure the designation and the program truly drives economic growth using creativity and creative placemaking within our districts and their host communities. This re-design of the CDI program should focus on four primary areas: Maximizing the full intent of the program’s legislative statute with a focus on economic development; A plan to ensure that the districts thrive and are sustainable; Alignment and partnership with other state agencies and offerings, including business improvement districts, tax increment and district improvement financing tools and other municipal financing and economic development tools and options, and; Assessing and collecting other areas of support and potential support across the Commonwealth government.
