Provide logistical and student services support for various faculty led study abroad programs. Programs will examine the challenges and opportunities facing business managers when conducting business internationally. This course will include on-site business visits and presentations, economic and cultural briefings, lectures by host country experts, and cultural experiences and activities. This course provides a unique opportunity to gain insight into Australian business, society, and culture. To accomplish this purpose, students will be given opportunity to: 1. Participate in on-site business and cultural site visits and presentations 2. Attend economic, professional, and cultural briefings 3. Participate in various cultural experiences and activities 4. Attend lectures by host country experts The main instructional delivery methods used in this course include: discussion, lectures, site visits, and guest speakers. Participation and learning will be assessed in country through daily group discussions group projects, journals and writing assignments. The following is a list of course objectives: 1. Provide students with information and in-country experiences on the cultures of the area visiting including exposure to language, customs, and societal norms; 2. Provide students with a broad understanding and in-country experiences, history, government, geography, population, politics, legal system, business, industry, consumers, religion, art, language, and family; 3. Recognize similarities and differences between U.S. culture and host cultures; 4. Demonstrate increased knowledge and appreciation for the host culture, local heritage, and the business environment;
