Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of the following specification is to set forth the requirements of transformers for general use for the electrical distribution system of the City of Redding Electric Utility. It is the intent of these specifications to obtain the best modern design, proven performance, ruggedness, reliability, and capability for the City of Redding Electric Utility transformers to remain in service for many years without maintenance. The transformers shall be constructed with parts commonly available in the United States wherever practical. Only manufacturers with ten years demonstrated experience in manufacturing distribution transformers of the type and size specified will be considered.
