Specifications include, but are not limited to: AWWU is soliciting bids for a twelve to forty-eight month contract to purchase Sodium Hydroxide 50% (Caustic Soda) for the AWWU Girdwood Wastewater Treatment Facility on an as- needed basis. Estimated Quantities. The following is a list of estimated quantities of chemicals that will be needed for the initial year of the contract. CHEMICAL ESTIMATED QUANTITY UNIT Sodium Hydroxide 50% (Caustic Soda) 52 Totes per year 13,780 Gallons 265 Gallon Totes/lbs THESE QUANTITIES ARE ESTIMATES ONLY - AWWU does not guarantee any minimum or maximum purchase quantities or dollar amount under any contract resulting from this solicitation. Sodium Hydroxide Requirements. The Sodium Hydroxide 50% (Caustic Soda) shall be required to meet or exceed all requirements of ANSI/ AWWA Standard Specification No. 8501-13 and materials shall comply with the requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act and other federal regulations for potable water, wastewater, and reclaimed water systems. Certification by NSF International or Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. is acceptable for meeting the ANSI/NSF 60 Standards. Certification by independent laboratories other than those cited above may be acceptable. Acceptance or rejection of a certification by a laboratory other than those listed is at AWWU's sole discretion.
