Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Town is issuing an IFB to qualified contractors to construct a “vehicle, equipment, and supplies” storage garage as an addition to the Town’s existing “Salt Shed” on Town property located at 30 Main Street in Millville, MA 01529. This municipal property is utilized by the Highway Department and serves as the current location for the Town’s salt and sand. The Town is seeking to preserve and protect its capital assets by constructing a garage to keep them isolated from the elements. Project Specifications • Dimensions for the Salt Shed Garage Addition should be 68ft x 18ft (+/- 5 ft) as an attachment to and incorporating as one wall the existing Millville Salt Shed. • Site excavation necessary to install the building and foundation shall be included. • Concrete flooring 6” thick with steel wire reinforcing mesh shall be included. • Footing shall be 2’ by 1’. • Frost wall foundation shall be 4’ by at least 10”. • Framing shall be 2X6 studs with Smart Board or T-111 siding or equivalent with walls 12’ high. • Roof will be metal corrugated with 2X10 framing and suitable underlayment and or equivalent structural trussing and materials consistent with the objectives for the addition. • Building should have 1 main door and one 12’ x12’ garage door • Building should have appropriate interior and exterior lighting, and suitable outlets (at least 6).
