The Los Angeles Harbor Department initiated a pilot Environmental Management System (EMS) in 2003, centered on its largest division, Construction and Maintenance Division (C&M). C&M provides maintenance services to all Harbor Department owned facilities. The facilities extend throughout the terminals and administrative buildings. C&M has its main shop facility located at 500 Pier "A" Street, Berth 161 in Wilmington, California. The C&M facility has approximately 275 staff and craftspeople. In 2007, the EMS was certified to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001:2004. The EMS was certified to ISO 14001:2015 in 2018. The Harbor Department is seeking a single certificate of approval for the entire operation. The proposer shall conduct a recertification audit to certify compliance of the C&M EMS to ISO 14001:2015. Two (2) surveillance audits shall be performed annually to certify that the C&M EMS continues to comply with ISO 14001:2015. Audit documents shall be provided in electronic format.
