The Work to be completed under Contract No. WW-34-2023 is the replacement of the North and South pin and link assemblies at Panel Point 38’ (Gloucester Tower, Center Span) and Panel Point 36’ (Philadelphia Tower, Side Span) and to complete the replacement tower wind restraint assembly for Side and Center Span at both towers of the Walt Whitman Bridge suspended span. The work includes all activities necessary for the replacements, including but not limited to the removal of the existing pins and links, locally cleaning and painting steel adjacent to the links, installing new structural steel links with stainless steel pins, temporary support of the truss and jacking as required for removal and installation, removal of the existing wind restraint block, pin and bronze wear plates, locally cleaning and painting steel at the tower outrigger and end floor truss, line boring new pin holes, installing new steel blocks, pins and bronze bushings, temporary wind restraint installation, maintenance and protection of traffic, floorbeam truss gusset plate replacement & strengthening, floorbeam truss member strengthening, and other miscellaneous site work.
