Specifications include, but are not limited to: Cary invites qualified firms to submit their proposals for consulting services to complete an Alternative Fuels Analysis and implementation recommendations for municipal fleet operations. The objective of this RFP is to contract with a firm to perform various studies and provide guidance including, but not limited to: • Identify and evaluate various alternative fuel solutions that can be implemented within Cary’s existing fleet, considering both economic feasibility and environmental impact. • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of our municipal fleet and identify and compare the benefits of implementing various alternative fuel solutions. • Existing Fleet Assessment: o Document the current composition of Cary’s municipal fleet. This must include vehicle types, usage patterns, and fuel consumption. o Assess and document the condition of existing fleet vehicles. o Evaluate compatibility of fleet vehicles with alternative fuel technologies. • Alternative Fuel Solutions: o Research and identify viable alternative fuel options for Cary’s fleet, considering options such as electric, compressed natural gas (CNG), propane, hydrogen, and other emerging technologies. o Provide a detailed analysis of the benefits and drawbacks of each alternative fuel solution. o Consider the availability of fueling infrastructure and potential partnerships with local stakeholders...
