Specifications include, but are not limited to: THE WORK CONSISTS OF, in general, the replacement of an existing river weir. In order to accomplish this, the work includes, but is not limited to, demolition and removal of the existing weir and adjacent retaining wall, including the removal of specified existing sheet piling, removal of existing concrete rubble, construction of a new reinforced concrete weir with wingwalls and abutment and adjacent retaining wall, with the placement of sheet piling, furnishing and installing an underdrain system, radial gated bays with motor controlled radial gates, weir board bays with miscellaneous metal supports, handrailing and fencing, reconstruction of river channeling in the riverbed with excavation, backfill and compaction around and under existing bridge bent pile caps, placement of rock slope protection on channel slopes and river invert, earthen embankments, construction of a control center instrument building including a SCADA system and a motor control center, aggregate base surfacing, asphalt paving for connection to the existing bike path, furnishing and installing all electrical; and all other incidental items necessary, including environmental compliances, for the complete construction and verified operation of the Kern River Backup Weir.
