The design and construction of the $22,000,000 OSBM funded Transportation Technology/STEM Facility for Southeastern Community College in Whiteville, NC. This project will construct a new facility of approximately 20,000 square feet. The facility will house the existing Automotive Technology Program and will include traditional classrooms, office space, automotive lift bays, and a CDL lab. The new facility will be built on the North side of the main campus, occupying current undeveloped land. The project scope will include road access, parking, and utility extensions. The scope of work for this selection will include providing commissioning services for the design, construction, and occupancy phases of the facility. The Commissioning agent shall provide complete building commissioning services to comply with the Sustainable, Energy Efficient Buildings requirements for public buildings mandated per North Carolina GS 143 – 135.35 through .40 (Article 8C). The Commissioning Agent will be contractually obligated to the Owner and will become a member of the project team (which includes McMillan Pazdan Smith Architects and Barnhill Contracting “CMAR”). The prospective commissioning agent shall demonstrate experience in “total building” commissioning projects of similar type, size, and complexity. Proposals should include a comprehensive description of comparable projects (minimum of 3), with owner reference information.
