The City is seeking services to design and provide construction documents for the sewer line replacement from Hawthorne street to First Street. This will consist of drawing plans to replace approximately 1,225 feet of an old 6” terracotta sewer main to an 8” pvc sewer main. It is preferred that this project be completed by December 2024. The City is seeking a firm whose combination of experience and personnel will provide timely, cost-effective and quality professional services to support this project. The scope of this Project includes the following primary goals and deliverables: • The Engineer will perform a physical assessment of the existing sewer line. • The Engineer will prepare a preliminary engineering study analyzing the existing sewer lines, and listing priorities by need. The preliminary engineering report provides City staff with the findings and conclusions necessary to determine corrective action needed if any. • The Engineer will prepare contract documents in form and detail suitable to obtain bids for construction. • The Engineer will submit plans and specifications to the Owner for approval. • The Engineer shall furnish assistance in support of review and approval by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality to gain approval and issuance of permit. • The Engineer shall furnish assistance and supervision in securing underground utility locations, surveys and topographic maps as necessary for the design of the project. • The Engineer shall provide the necessary surveys and technical documents necessary for the selection of proper corrective action needed to maintain operational goals. • The Engineer shall furnish assistance to the Owner in securing bids, analyzing bids documents, and letting contracts if requested. • The Engineer will provide design services for preparation of construction documents for each priority. • The Engineer shall provide Construction Assistance which includes a general review of the progress and quality of work performed by the Contractor.
