The RFI will increase understanding of specific services that could operate out of the South Minneapolis Community Safety Center, associated needs for physical space, and potential costs. The purpose of this RFI is to learn what services community agencies believe they can provide in the Center related to culturally specific community navigator services. Culturally specific community navigator services could be considered both a prevention and restorative service in the community safety ecosystem. Community navigators should have experience with cultural groups prevalent in South Minneapolis including Native American, African American, Latino/a/e/x, Somali, Hmong, etc. Some navigators should speak at least one of the languages frequently spoken in South Minneapolis such as Spanish, Somali, or Hmong. Service providers must be knowledgeable about culturally specific social services in Minneapolis.
