Specifications include, but are not limited to: Burke County Community Development seeks qualified and insured contractors for the demolition and removal of one (1) single-family home. The address of the structure to be considered for demolition and removal is 2055 Creek View Drive, Hickory, NC 28601. All expenses incurred by your company in preparing your proposal, attending meetings, making site visits and all such expenses otherwise associated with this proposal solicitation shall be the sole responsibility of your company. In removing and disposing of the structure and debris, Contractor must: • Deconstruct the home in a manner that will prevent any debris from becoming airborne or otherwise affecting any adjacent properties. • Remove any and all mercury thermostats or other recyclables to be disposed of in an appropriate manner. • Debris from the deconstructed home shall be transported on a vehicle capable of safely moving the materials from the demolition site to a certified landfill or recycling facility. • During transportation, all debris must be covered with a tarp or fabric cover and shall be properly secured so not to allow any debris to fall from the vehicle. • Remove and replace any contaminated soil that results from the spillage of any fluids or hazardous materials from equipment associated with performing deconstruction or removal of the structure. • Take measures during the demolition and removal so as not to cause any unnecessary damage to the property or any easements to or from the site • Notify Burke County Community Development Department if any damage occurs to the property during removal, before leaving the property • Dispose of all waste in accordance with Federal, State, and Local laws • Contractor seed mix or equivalent is acceptable for stabilization. Lespedeza is not acceptable on this project. • Disposals fees at the landfill are set by The Burke County General Services and cannot be waived
