Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.2.1 UMass Transit is seeking bids to provide two (2) wheelchair accessible ADA compliant commercial grade minivans for use by the Accessible Van Service (AVS) division of UMass Transit Service for transportation of students and employees with disabilities; use will be on campus roadways and town and city streets. Any conversions shall be ADA compliant and intended for continuous commercial use. 1.2.2 The vehicle should be designed for easy entry from the curb side by passengers using crutches or a wheelchair utilizing a manually operated wheelchair ramp. The vehicle is to be the heaviest available with all possible options which make the vehicle better fitted to stop-start duty cycles. 1.2.3 Purchase: Two (2) – New (2022, 2023, or 2024) – Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles for use by UMass AVS and UMass Field Trip. 1.2.4 Basis of Design: BraunAbility Chrysler Voyager Commercial series with Simple Stow ramp. 1.2.5 Exterior Color: White A. Provide pricing for decals and lettering on both vehicles, if bidder is able to provide the service. Decals shall include: • One circumferential maroon reflective stripe 4 to 6 inches in width along the vehicle’s “beltline”, using 3M high grade reflective material. • The words “ACCESSIBLE VAN SERVICE 413-545-2086” placed inside the maroon stripe, in the rear quarters of the vehicle on both sides, using 3M white reflective lettering. • The UMass Amherst wordmark on the driver and passenger doors. • A preliminary design of decals and lettering must be submitted for approval.
