Specifications include, but are not limited to: Jointly develop with the City an overall strategy to ensure issues of City concern are addressed effectively and desired outcomes are achieved Draft letters to various parties regarding issues of interest and concern and other letters as appropriate On a continuing basis review existing and proposed state policies, programs and legislation to determine connectivity to the topics listed above Identify issues that may affect the City or its citizens, and regularly inform the City regarding such matters Identify legal issues associated with legislation of interest Monitor state legislative committee meetings, state agency hearings, and other meetings prior to and during the regular and special legislative session(s) at which specific issues within the City’s adopted legislative program are considered Work with the City Council and staff to develop special or general legislation supportive of the City’s legislative program Testify before and lobby the Legislature, Governor, and related agencies, committees, or executive staff during the annual legislative session, extended and special sessions On occasion, it may be requested to assist with lobbying at the federal level with members of Congress and others
