Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project will complete Phase II for the project. 1. Drainage Services a. Description: The Consultant shall conduct a drainage study of this project. The Consultant shall document the results of the drainage study in a preliminary drainage report and a final stamped and sealed final drainage report. If alteration of the floodplain is anticipated, a CLOMR/LOMR will be required. It is the responsibility of the Consultant to develop all documentation required for the initial submittal to FEMA. Addressing comments may be pursued as additional services to the contract. This report shall be prepared in conjunction with the 2018 NMDOT Drainage Design Manual. b. Deliverables: The Consultant shall provide one (1) electronic (.PDF) report for review. 2. Geotechnical Engineering and Exploration a. Geotechnical Scoping Report Prepare the Geotechnical Scoping Report as outlined in the NMDOT Design Manual, Chapter 600 to assess potential geological and geotechnical issues and constraints that may affect the proposed structures and/or roadway alignment. Perform the scoping evaluation in accordance with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, FHWA Geotechnical Engineering Circulars, the NMDOT Materials Geotechnical Manual and the NMDOT Design Manual. b. Geotechnical and Foundation Reports (Phase ID, Preliminary Design) Preliminary Geotechnical and Foundation reports shall be generated using the information contained in the Geotechnical Scoping Report to further evaluate potential issues and to develop potential structure foundation alternatives. The Preliminary Geotechnical and Foundation Reports shall include tasks outlined in the NMDOT Design Manual, Chapter 600. Perform the evaluation and design in accordance with the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, FHWA Geotechnical Engineering Circulars, the NMDOT Materials Geotechnical Manual and the NMDOT Design Manual. 3. Pavement Subgrade Soils Field Exploration and Laboratory Testing a. Description: Consultant will be required to provide field exploration and laboratory testing consisting of the following: • Asphalt cores advanced at locations of 50, 100, 150, 250 feet from existing bridge for approach and departures, both directions for 4 lane roadways and one direction of travel for 2 lane roadways. Provide Boring Location Plan prior to field exploration. • Subgrade testing at intervals described above to depths of 5 feet below existing surfacing. Dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP) testing shall be required at each location to a depth of 3 feet per ASTM D6951-03. • Thickness of existing HMA, base and other pavement strata where encountered. • NMDOT shall have access to HMA cores to view and inspect. • Coordinate contract laboratory testing with NMDOT personnel. • For this proposal, estimate 2 soil samples per location. Perform the following geotechnical laboratory tests on each sample according to applicable AASHTO standards including, but not limited to, the following: o Sieve Analysis (including Minus No. 200 Wash). o Atterberg Limits. o Moisture Content. o R-Value.
