Specifications include, but are not limited to: INTENT: The City of Athens is seeking quotes from a qualified contractor to install approximately 172 feet of 4-inch SDR26 Perforated Under Drain Pipe to channel ground water from behind the headwall under the sidewalk to the street. SCOPE: Provide the City of Athens with competitive pricing to install under drain pipe behind the headwall as well as a slotted drain in the existing sidewalk to collect and channel ground water to the street. The City of Athens will provide a set of engineered plans. MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS: • The contractor will furnish all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the excavation and installation of all material. • Excavate behind headwall to approximately 6 inches below sidewalk elevation. • Install silt fabric in bottom and soil side of ditch. • Install 1 inch rock below and up to approximately 1 foot below finish grade. • Bore holes through headwall to insert discharge pipe to slot drain in sidewalk. • Saw cut and remove sidewalk and curb to install slot drain in sidewalk. • Provide concrete to repair sidewalk after slot drain is installed. • Provide hauling for all waste material. • Provide orange safety fencing to be placed to keep pedestrians out of construction areas. • Provide an approved traffic control plan to temporarily detour traffic as needed.
