The State of Rhode Island is issuing this RFI to gather ideas and recommendations on how to proceed with future efforts. Please include example projects in your responses, as applicable. Examples of topics where RIDOT seeks feedback include, but are not limited to: 1. General / Awareness a. Were you aware of this RFP / opportunity? i. If you were aware of the RFP but chose not to respond, please provide your rationale. If external factors influenced your decision not to submit a response, please explain. b. What aspects of the proposal did you find most attractive? 2. Procurement a. Procurement Schedule: Was the time provided in the RFP for the various procurement milestones a significant consideration in your decision not to bid? Please explain. b. Procurement Method: Is Design-Build the most appropriate procurement method for this project or is there an alternative contracting method that may be more suitable? 3. Construction a. Construction Schedule: Was the time provided in the RFP for construction completion a significant consideration in your decision not to bid? Please explain. b. Scope of Work: Were any items included within the scope of work or base technical concept for the project considered to be too high risk? Are there any suggestions that could potentially reduce the risk to an acceptable level? i. Were there specific materials or construction approaches you found too high risk? ii. Did you consider any aspects of the substructure to be too high risk? c. Incentives/Disincentives: Were the incentives/disincentives included in the RFP for the opening of travel lanes and construction completion a significant consideration in your decision not to bid?
