Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Town seeks to establish a better understanding of baseline conditions of the tree canopy, its distribution and value, and the importance of urban forestry during planning processes. The study should encompass all land within town boundaries. It involves the use of high-resolution aerial imagery, LiDAR data (Light Detection and Ranging), GIS remote sensing technology, and/or existing datasets compiled with these technologies. Baseline UTC should be done at the highest possible resolution (1 meter or less). Deliverables should include impervious surface evaluation, GIS compatibility, possible new planting areas, bare ground, ground cover, and other options/prices. The project will include the completion of a UTC Assessment that would include the following components: Web-based UTC Viewer and Planning Software Application: An interactive software application that enables the Town and public to view an online version of the existing tree canopy and possible planting areas by geographic boundaries. o Imagery and Data Delivery -- Provide high resolution leaf-on digital imagery with 1- meter resolution or better, within the Town limits. (The Town can supply the chosen vendor with an existing shapefile or geodatabase for the current Town limits.) o Land Cover Classification System: Provide imagery for a minimum of five land cover classes, such as impervious surfaces, tree canopy, shrub vegetation, grass/open space vegetation, and open water...
