This funding opportunity seeks to improve the quality of life and behavioral health outcomes in the Town of Hamden through training staff, developing institutional relationships with other human service departments/agencies, and cultivating partnerships with area schools of social work. The Hamden Public Library seeks proposals from individuals with a minimum of a Master’s in Social Work/MSW to meet the following strategies to support patrons. 1. Provides guidance and leadership to the library and its partners in working with vulnerable or at-risk individuals. 2. Supplies training, information, and guidance to employees on serving vulnerable populations. 3. Builds avenues of collaboration with community organizations and community members to address the needs of patrons and potential patrons who face barriers to library service. 4. Develop and facilitate regular patron resource hours at each library location. 5. Cultivate partnership with area university social work programs to develop a social work internship. 6. Nurture outreach with other human service organizations and participate/organize outreach opportunities.
