Specifications include, but are not limited to: Wilson Library is in need of replacement of the waterproofing of below grade spaces (basement and sub-basement) due to multiple failures leading to water infiltration of occupied interior spaces. The entirety of West Bank below grade space was studied for water infiltration by a consultant in 2019. The excerpt of the report pertaining to Wilson Library is attached, defining the majority of the scope of Work; replacement of the below grade waterproofing and restoration of landscaping and hardscaping impacted by the Work. This Project is intended to replace the waterproofing, plaza, and any landscape areas impacted by the Work on the east, south, and west sides of Wilson Library as noted in the report. The replacement of waterproofing at the north plaza between Wilson Library and Heller and Blegin Halls was constructed in 2020. Additional considerations for the Project that Respondents should include in their services: • Design and documentation for restoration of interior spaces damaged by water infiltration. • While not intended to be comprehensive study of West Bank vehicle access, the Project should include measures around Wilson Library to manage vehicle access to the West Bank plaza system. • On the west side of Wilson Library is an existing direct bury utility corridor. Consultant shall include measures as necessary for the protection of chilled water, electrical duct bank, domestic waterer, storm Sewer, and other utilities that may occur in this corridor. • Any new stormwater management structures and systems necessary to manage stormwater as part of the Project. • Restoration and/or protection of existing fire hydrants, the UMN Public Safety Emergency Communications emergency kiosk, the Living Lab garden, and existing storm water systems. • Site lighting impacted by the Work is intended to be replaced with new lighting that complies with current University design standards.
