Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Vehicle Type and Size: The vehicle should meet the following specifications or characteristics: Armor: a) All steel construction armored vehicle capable of withstanding .50 cal. ammunition on all sides, including windows, engine area, and gunports. Ratings may be known as B7, .50 cal. NIJ, or level IV protection. b) The vehicle should be equipped with a locking roof hatch observation turret capable of rotating 360 degrees. It should open and close with zero gravity, allowing for onehand operation. Vendor must be able to demonstrate one-hand operation via video or in person. c) The vehicle should have a three-position height adjustable stand beneath the roof hatch turret to allow personnel to stand for long periods of time while observing from the turret. Vendor must be able to demonstrate this capability via video or in person. d) The vehicle should have a minimum of three seven-inch rectangular gunports on the passenger side of the vehicle, and three seven-inch rectangular gunports on the driver’s side of the vehicle. e) The vehicle should have two additional seven-inch rectangular gunports on the rear doors, with one located on each door. f) The gunports should be lockable in the closed position. g) Armored oil pan. h) Front skid pan. Passenger Hauling: i) The vehicle should have double welded ballistic steel metal running boards with nonslip surfaces that wrap around both sides and the rear of the vehicle. The running boards should be adequate width for personnel to stand on. Bolt on running boards will not be acceptable. j) There should be a roof mounted handrail that mirrors the placement of the running boards on top of the vehicle. k) Rear Interior bench seating with room for equipment storage underneath seats. Bench seats shall be a minimum of 72 inches long. l) Rear facing flip down seats behind driver and front passenger seats. m) Vehicle should be able to seat 12 fully equipped police officers. n) Textured or rubber weather resistant flooring. Engine/Mechanical: o) The vehicle shall be equipped with a 4WD option and shift on the fly capability. p) V8 turbo diesel engine with at least 330 horsepower and 825 ft.-lbs. of torque. q) Heavy duty 10-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. r) Vehicle should be capable of reaching freeway speeds of 75 MPH or greater. s) Dual 397-amp alternators or greater. t) Dual vehicle batteries (750-CCA, 78 amp-hr., 12V). Lighting: u) The vehicle should have low profile California compliant emergency LED lights on the exterior above the windshield. v) Low profile amber and blue LED lights placed above the roofline of the rear of the vehicle. w) All emergency red, blue, and amber LED lights should have flash or strobe capability. x) Takedown white LED lightbar with infrared capability shall be mounted to the front bumper. y) Two roof mounted remote control LED spotlights, with the capability of rotating lights to cover all sides of the vehicle. z) Red and white interior lights to allow the operator to select appropriate lighting for conditions (normal vs. low light operation).
