Erie Street Park will be BREC's newest small neighborhood park, located on the corner of Erie Street and Plank Road. This small park focuses on green infrastructure, utilizing bio-retention planters (rain gardens) to capture stormwater on site, clean it and ensure that the water infiltrates into the site's soils. The planters contain Louisiana native trees, shrubs, grasses and wildflowers that will provide for pollinators and local wildlife, while retaining the soil, providing shade and seasonal variety and interest to the site. The park has a variety of pavement and surface types including concrete, permeable pavers, artificial turf, decomposed granite, small boardwalk and mulch.
