Specifications include, but are not limited to: The work involved is for the roofing replacement and recover of various roof areas on the Kiva Building and Wheeler Hall. The roof areas that are to be addressed are referenced as numbered “Decks” as defined on the construction document roof plans. Wheeler Hall – Deck 1 Repairs shall be required on the gravel surfaced asphalt Built-Up Roof (BUR) system. The affected area is 750 square feet in size. Wheeler Hall – Deck 3 The existing insulated modified bitumen roof system is to be removed to the surface of the wood decking. A new R-30 insulation system consisting of isocyanurate foam roof insulation and a high density isocyanurate foam cover board shall be installed. The cover board shall have a fully adhered 60 mil fire rated EPDM roof membrane system and flashings installed over it. New pre-finished sheet metal flashings, gutters, downspouts and trim metal shall be installed. A manufacturer’s 20-year leak free warranty covering material and labor at a no-dollar-limit shall be required upon completion. Kiva – Decks 1 Thru 4 The existing gravel surfaced BUR systems shall have their gravel surfacing and flashings removed. Various amounts of isocyanurate foam roof insulation and a high density isocyanurate foam cover board shall be installed. The cover board shall have a fully adhered 60 mil fire rated EPDM roof membrane system and flashings installed over it. New pre-finished sheet metal flashings, scupper inserts, header boxes, downspouts and trim metal shall be installed. A manufacturer’s 20-year leak free warranty covering material and labor at a no-dollar-limit shall be required upon completion.
