This project serves to assist Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Family Planning Program (FPP) subcontracted providers to set their fees for family planning services based on their costs. CDPHE is allocating funds for this health project because it supports the FPP in meeting the requirements of the Federal Title X Family Planning Services Grant, and the FPP must provide FPP providers with training and technical assistance to review their cost setting activities and update their sliding fee scales. Throughout the duration of the contract, FPP providers will attend training on cost-setting methodologies to gain a better understanding of the costs associated with their services, which allows them to set reasonable fees. Activities include providing three (3) trainings on three (3) separate cost setting methodologies (two virtual webinar trainings and one in-person training at the FPP annual conference), providing a standardized reporting tool for FPP providers to use to analyze their costs, and providing expert technical assistance. Both FPP providers and FPP patients across Colorado will benefit from this project. This project’s health impacts include FPP providers being better able to accurately budget, price, and streamline their services, ultimately using limited funds efficiently. Additional health impacts include FPP patients paying service costs that are fair and accurate, ultimately allowing them to achieve their desired health outcomes.
