Specifications include, but are not limited to: The New Mexico Department of Agriculture (NMDA) will award a contract to conduct statewide noxious weed mapping and inventorying in New Mexico. NMDA will work with the successful bidder to formulate and execute a plan to support the statewide, comprehensive mapping of noxious weeds in New Mexico, generating data in a format compatible with the EDDMaps platform (https://www.eddmaps.org/). Current noxious weed mapping efforts have been led by local entities, such as soil and water conservation districts (SWCDs) and cooperative weed management areas (CWMAs). However, historically there have not been sufficient funding or staff capacity to maintain continuous and complete coverage of the state. To assist this process and fill critical knowledge gaps, NMDA seeks contractor services for providing surveying, inventory, and mapping services to state and local entities. Mapping shall occur primarily on non‐federal lands (state, private or tribal), though there may be some mapping on federal lands where jurisdictions are intermixed. NMDA anticipates this contract will involve two phases: Planning (Summer 2024): NMDA and contractor will work together to develop a final work plan for inventory and mapping. Implementation (Fall 2024‐Spring 2025): Contractor will execute inventory and mapping plan.
