Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment laboratory conducts research and testing to protect and improve the lives of its citizens. The Newborn Screening Program (NBS) is required to process, test and report samples from all of the children born in the states of Colorado and Wyoming. The Recommended Uniform Screening Panel (RUSP) is a list of disorders that the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recommends for states to screen as part of their state universal newborn screening (NBS) programs. This project serves to provide follow-up, diagnostic confirmatory testing and consultation for families of infants originally identified by the CDPHE’s Newborn Screening laboratory as having the SMA disorder. CDPHE is seeking a vendor to provide follow-up and consultation to families of infants with abnormal SMA screen results and to their primary care providers (PCPs). CDPHE anticipates both phone and in-person consultation will be conducted based upon the geographic location of the family. The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to obtain bids from qualified bidders to provide follow-up services for families of newborns identified with abnormal SMA screen results.
