Specifications include, but are not limited to: This solicitation is for the purchase and delivery of one (1) Quadrupole Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer (QToF). The QToF shall have the minimum specifications described below: A. Ionization source shall include the following specifications: • Dual heater source design and user-controlled gas flow rate to facilitate desolvation over a wide range of liquid chromatograph flow rates • Active exhaust/self-cleaning ionization source to increase desolvation efficiency and reduce the need for manual cleaning while maximizing instrument uptime • Counter-current gas flow at the ion source to help further eliminate residual solvent molecules along with any “garbage” ions prior to entering detector • The instrument should be able to efficiently capture, move, and focus ions into the mass analyzer region and subsequently reduce the need to constantly tune or re-tune target drugs over time • Instrument source must be able to maintain maximal uptime and cleanliness when analyzing extracts of postmortem blood, urine, and/or solid tissue specimens B. Detector (TOF and MS/MS) shall include the following specifications: • Instrument must be able to efficiently collect fragment ions over a very large mass range • Instrument must be able to support large MRM panels typical in forensic toxicology applications while avoiding signal crosstalk • Instrument must be able to rapidly analyze multiple MRM transitions over a very large mass range without sacrificing collection of an adequate number of data points across each compound peak • Instrument detector must be able to maintain maximal uptime and cleanliness when analyzing extracts of postmortem blood, urine, and/or solid tissue specimens
