Through this project, PTD seeks to locate and design Anchorage’s first transit-oriented development (TOD), which is visible and central to the Muldoon neighborhood. A TOD that pulls together people from across the community and establishes a true “town center” that complements the new commercial, residential, and park developments in the area. This project aims to provide the planning, design, and preliminary engineering needed to develop a summary of feasible alternatives to relocate the existing collection of bus stops known as the Muldoon Transit Hub to an off-street location (as one facility) to improve safety for pedestrians, to accommodate passenger transfer and travel needs, maintain efficient transit operations, and provide operator conveniences.
