The University of Connecticut Health Center (UConn Health) is requesting proposals from qualified organizations to provide Courier/Distribution Services to the UConn Health Main Campus and various off-campus locations, as well as providing deliveries of pharmaceutical products statewide on behalf of UConn Health's specialty pharmacy. The annual number of pieces of mail and packages handled through the Courier/Distribution Services is approximately 1,500,000 pieces. Services will include providing secure courier services for UConn Health daily bank runs and deliveries of prescription medication to patient homes. The items to be picked up by the courier and delivered to various locations include, but are not limited to, legal currency, checks and other financial documents, and pharmaceutical products as well as general mail, office supplies, and medical supplies. All services shall be performed in accordance with applicable state and federal regulatory agencies and organizations, including, but not limited to, the Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA), and UConn Health requirements. The successful bidder will provide non-emergency and emergency courier services for envelopes, packages, media etc. with a combined weight of seventy-five (75) pounds or less on an as needed basis at UConn Health's request. The contractor will be responsible for providing full coverage for all delivery routes and services and ensuring that there is no delay or disruption in services due to courier company's employee absences or vehicle repair/maintenance issues.
