Specifications include, but are not limited to: Item #1 - Fuel System: a. Secure generator by turning unit to OFF, opening circuit breaker at generator, and perform lock-out / tag-out procedures before performing any maintenance work to generator set. b. Inspect main fuel tank for any leaks, corrosion, or damage. [Fuel polishing required first, third, and fifth year of contract]. c. Inspect day tank (if applicable) for any leaks, corrosion or damage. Check mechanical / electrical operation of day tankpump. d. Inspect fuel pump and regulator. e. Inspect injectors for fuel leaks (Diesel, gasoline and propane). f. Check electrical or mechanical fuel gauge for operation and accuracy. g. Inspect fuel cap, fuel vents, valves, and overflow piping. h. Inspect fuel system condition for any water or contaminates. i. Check HIGH / LOW fuel level alarm system and its operation (if applicable). j. Replace all fuel filter(s), and clearly mark filter(s) with dates when changed and technician’s initials. Item #2 - Cooling System: a. Check for coolant leaks at engine and generator area. b. Inspect radiator cap. c. Pressure test radiator cap. d. Inspect radiator for deterioration and that radiator grill is free from debris. e. Inspect radiator fan and fan shroud for any cracks or damage. f. Check coolant level and condition at radiator. (Radiator flush and new coolant every other year starting on the first year of the Contract g. Annual Coolant Analysis. Contractor will maintain coolant to the levels indicated below. Coolant analysis will test for: 1) Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). TDS level should be no higher than %4. 2) Glycol level. To be kept between %40-60. 3) Ph range. To be kept between 7.5-11.0. 4) Nitrite level. Not to exceed 3333 parts per million (ppm). 5) SCA (Supplemental Coolant Additive) Level. Minimum level of 1.2, 2.5 being ideal. 6) Levels are to be recorded in the job ticket/annual report to the PMC/F. 7) All levels are to be recorded in the annual PM report. i. Check water pump for leaks. j. Check electric block heater for operation. k. Inspect all hoses, hose clamps, and connections for deterioration, cracks, leaks, or damage. l. Check HIGH/LOW coolant level alarm system (if applicable) and its operation. m. Fuel polishing; First, Third and Fifth year of contract.
