Specifications include, but are not limited to: The below listed eligibility requirements may be modified, at the discretion of the Department, if deemed necessary. A. Schools Eligible Schools: Eligible candidates for this grant (“Applicant”) are Minnesota public schools, Tribal contract schools, K-12 schools that operate as part of an independent or special school district or cooperative unitc , and Minnesota state colleges and universities that are under the jurisdiction of the Board of Trustees of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. As designated through the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), independent school districts are type (1) schools and special school districts are type (3) schools, and charter schools are type (7) schools. A full list of eligible schools has been posted to the Department’s website (mn.gov/solar4schools). Multiple Applications: Multiple schools within a school district as well as multiple buildings within a single college or university system may simultaneously apply for grants. Additionally, the Department may consider multiple applications within one building, if there is a clear delineation of facility and electricity (e.g., an elementary and high school share one building with separate electric meters). In addition to meeting all other project eligibility criteria to qualify, separate project IDs must be requested for each System, each System must be connected to a unique electric meter and submit a unique application.
