Specifications include, but are not limited to: SCOPE: The San Antonio Water System (SAWS) is seeking Best Value Bids for a condition assessment vendor to perform water main condition assessment services utilizing non-destructive, free swimming, near-field electromagnetic (EM) testing technologies on 3.75 miles of 48” AWWA C-301 prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP). The assessment will identify structural deficiencies, number of wire breaks, failure risk, and current condition of the pipe to aid in repair and/or replacement planning. In addition to the EM pipe inspection, services will also include leak detection utilizing in-pipe acoustic based technology to identify existing leaks at joints and along the pipe wall in the 3.75 miles of PCCP, as well as 3.8 miles of 48” Ductile Iron (DI) pipe.
