Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Town’s current POCD, amended effective March 17, 2016 articulated a three-pronged vision to guide growth: • Enhance Community Character through preservation of important resources including natural resources, open space, historic resources, and community character. • Grow Smarter through improving the quality of development and managing the quantity of development • Meet Community Needs through improvement of community facilities and resolution of transportation and utility issues. The plan also identified a number of strategic priorities, including establishing a Village Center, establishing a Greenbelt System with Trails, promoting open space within development patterns, modifying the zoning along the Federal Road corridor, establishing an Advisory Design Committee, and addressing infrastructure and staffing issues. The Town of Brookfield is requesting proposals from qualified consultants and planning firms to update and expand the community’s POCD, with a focus on supporting a thriving, healthy small town community over the next ten years.
