Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The removal of asbestos containing and building contaminated materials and debris from the site shall be accomplished by wet demolition removal techniques according to this approved Project Design. 2. Establish a work area “Danger Asbestos ….” ribbon boundaries, a negative pressure mobile decontamination unit in accordance with DOL 380:50-7,8 and12, and conduct/pass a DOL prep inspection prior to demo/removal of any asbestos containing or contaminated building materials from this site. 3. Establish One ABC fire extinguisher in the work area as shown on the drawing. One at least in every 75 linear feet of travel distance. 4. In case of Emergency, workers shall exit the work area in any direction and meeting location established. Procedures will be addressed with employees at an on-site weekly safety meeting. 5. Electric and HVAC systems are OFF to the work area as this is a vacant facility. Water hook-up shall be provided from a portable large water container or fire hydrant. All power within the asbestos work area will be supplied through GFCI protected outlets outside the work area from a portable generator. A LIVE water line DOES exist under the floor level. CAUTION shall be taken to protect this line from damage. 6. Worker protection including disposable suits, gloves and Full-face respirators will be utilized for any hand asbestos removal work activities that may be necessary and during the sealing of the poly filled hauling vehicle.
