Upgrade of the shelter's existing electrical service – Currently the existing main electrical service for the overall Animal Shelter facility runs from a PG&E transformer located along S. Lincoln St across the existing public parking lot and into an existing subterranean electrical vault which is located within the footprint of the new one-story building. From there the power runs to the main electrical panel which is located up against a portion of the existing shelter building which will remain. The vault and the lines running under the new Adoption/Clinic building must be removed in order for the new building to be constructed. However, before that can occur, a new Electrical Service and Main Equipment must be installed as well as the rerouting of other subterranean utilities including storm and water. See Electrical, Civil and Architectural drawings which denote the scope of this work including 1) the new electrical main equipment location adjacent to the existing shelter’s main entrance, 2) the existing PG&E transformer which will remain 3) the approximate location of the underground main service lines and where it will need to be diverted to the new Main Equipment panel 4) the existing main Electrical Service Equipment which the new Main service will tie into and 5) other subgrade utilities needing to be rerouted. Note that the City of Stockton has already purchased the new Main Electrical Service Equipment which is on order. • Realignment of underground utilities currently under the new Adoption/Clinic site – Similar to the electrical underground service, sewer, storm, fire and domestic water all run under the new building site. These lines need to be rerouted around the new building site before construction of the building can occur. See Civil and Architectural drawings. • Installation of a new vehicular gate and person gate serving the overall Public Works complex. Currently, there is a motorized double sliding gate that serves the Corporation Yard. One side of the gate opens into the new Adoption/Clinic site. That side of the gate needs to be replaced with a motorized swinging gate and manual person door as depicted in the Architectural and civil drawings. This existing vehicular gateway will remain and serve as the main vehicular entrance for both the Animal Shelter and Corporation Yard.
