Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Coordinate contract advanced laboratory testing with NMDOT personnel to identify samples or cores to be laboratory tested. 2. Contractor will pick up samples or core to be tested from NMDOT State Materials Lab, Santa Fe, NM unless contractor performs field exploration. 3. Perform the following materials laboratory tests according to applicable AASHTO standards. Provide a per unit cost for series of tests as defined below. • Advanced Mechanical Testing Services a. Gyratory Compactor Specific Mix Testing Series shall include laboratory mixing, curing, and specimen compaction to match field density with gyratory compactor density at a specific design traffic level. This task will facilitate NMDOT move from Marshall method of mix design to Superpave design, and eventually to a balanced mix design. b. Complex Dynamic Modulus (E*) Testing Series Per unit cost for E* testing series shall include: i. E* Sample Compaction or core collection ii. The E* Test Specimen Preparation including measurement of density and air void contents of the test specimens. iii. Laboratory Testing for E* at specified frequencies and temperatures. iv. E* Mater Curves including shift factors for level 1 and 2 ME analysis v. Phase angle (φ) master curve. c. Resilient Modulus (Mr) Test Series Per unit cost for Mr Testing series shall include: i. Mr Sample Compaction or core collection ii. The Mr Test Specimen Preparation including measurement of density and air void contents of the test specimens. iii.
