Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, tools, equipment, and materials as required, shown on the Contract Drawings, and described in these specifications. The principal items of Work are: a) removal of existing sidewalks and construction of new bituminous concrete sidewalks b) bituminous concrete pavement repair to the roadway and driveways c) installation of new pedestrian crossings and associated signal equipment (RRFB) d) installation of ADA compliant sidewalk ramps e) signing and pavement markings f) installation of extruded concrete curbing and bituminous concrete lip curbing (g) installation of timber guiderail (h) drainage upgrades, and (i) site improvements to a parking area at a commercial business. In general, the project maintains the existing gutter lines except where noted on the Contract Drawings. The Contractor shall maintain existing grades to the maximum extent practical and provide a cross slope on the sidewalks of 1.5%. All sidewalks and ramps shall conform to ADA and PROWAG guidelines. All work occurs within the Town of Westport right-of-way except where noted and all work shall conform to the project drawings, special provisions, and Standard Specifications for Roads, Bridges, Facilities and Incidental Construction (Form 818, dated 2020; Supplemental Specifications, dated July 2023). The work items described above do not define the entire scope of work items and equipment required to complete the sidewalk construction. The Contractor shall be responsible to provide other associated work necessary for the completion of the contract, including but not limited to obtaining all necessary licenses and permits required to construct the facilities, construction surveying, and assistance in inspections conducted by others in relation to this work.
