Specifications include, but are not limited to: Payment shall constitute full compensation for the removal of sidewalk trip hazards from 1/4” and up to 1-1/2” in various locations through the City of West Jordan. Contractor must guarantee specified repair slope (1:12 based upon requirements outlined by the Americans with Disabilities Act) is achieved. If defined slope cannot be achieved, the contractor must notify the Project Manager prior to any work taking place. Work which does not comply will not be compensated and that is the reason we require prior notice so alternative action can be taken. Contractor must guarantee that the removed trip hazard will have a uniform appearance and texture. Method of trip hazard removal shall entail precise saw cutting performed with hand-held electric powered equipment or smooth grinding of the concrete. Concrete grinding is acceptable provided finished product will have a uniform appearance and texture without grooves. Contractor’s trip hazard repairs may not leave ridges or grooves that could hold water and prevent drainage of water.
