Specifications include, but are not limited to: The intent of the project is to identify historic properties (cultural resources eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places) within the project area in accordance with 36 CFR 800. Approximately 1,450 acres will be archaeologically surveyed for this project. The APE consists of four distinct polygons spread across the north side of the Raft River Range in northwest Utah. The results of the survey, along with associated site documentation, GIS, and final report will be submitted to the Sawtooth archaeologist for review and approval. The approved documentation will be submitted to the Utah SHPO. This project is focused on wildlife habitat restoration and establishing resilience for wildlife. Post-survey project implementation vegetation treatments may include cut and pile, mastication, lop and scatter, and/or prescribed burn. These acres will help improve sage steppe and riparian habitat for a myriad of wildlife species (from the WRI proposal).
