Specifications include, but are not limited to: This is a public invitation to owners of rental housing located in the City of Waterbury to apply for the Section 8 Project Based Voucher Program. This Program provides guaranteed fair market rentals to owners for a period of not less than one (1) year or more than twenty (20) years. It is anticipated that the initial contract will be for twenty (20) years. The WHA will have the option to renew this contract for an additional twenty (20) year term provided funding is available. This program, while providing guaranteed fair market rentals to owners, will assist very low income families in making rental payments. The WHA will administer this program without regard to race, color, religion, sex, disability, national origin, ancestry, marital status, age, mental or physical disability, a lawful source of income, sexual orientation, and familial status. The maximum rental including utilities will not exceed $1,057.00 for a zero (0) bedroom, $1,270.00 for a one (1) bedroom, $1,559.00 for a two (2) bedroom, $2,011.00 for a three (3) bedroom, and $2,481.00 for a four (4) bedroom. The rent will be based on comparable rents being charged for similar units in the marketplace.
