Specifications include, but are not limited to:Bid Item 1 – Mobilization This bid item includes the mobilization of personnel, equipment and supplies at the project site in preparation for the Work, as well as the establishment and maintenance for the duration of the Contract of the Contractor’s sanitary facilities, protective fencing and barricades not included elsewhere, necessary facilities, and all other costs incurred or labor and operations which must be performed prior to beginning the other items under the Contract. This item shall include any costs for required bonding of this project. This item shall also include marshalling, disassembly and security of all items indicated on the Construction Drawings or Specifications or installed as part of mobilization and demobilization from the site. Payment will be made in two installments: the first 60% will be paid on the first month’s pay estimate, and the remaining 40% after the final cleanup has been completed and approved. Additional payments will not be made for multiple mobilizations. Bid Item 2 –Traffic Control This bid item shall include, but is not limited to furnishing, installing, moving, maintaining, and removing temporary traffic signs, advance warning arrow panel, flashing beacons (portable), barricades, channelizing devices, delineators, temporary traffic signals, masking and unmasking existing signs in construction zones, traffic control supervision, flagging, pilot car operation, and concrete barriers as required by the “Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways (MUTCD) and the latest revision of Colorado Supplement thereto, in accordance with these specifications, and CDOT’s “Standards Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction”, Section 630, Construction Zone Traffic Control. Payment will be made at the lump sum bid price. Bid Item 3 – Hot Poured Joint and Crack Sealant This bid item shall include, but is not limited to providing labor, materials, equipment, tools and preparation necessary to clean cracks with compressed air and apply hot pour rubberized crack sealer (Maxwell Elastoflex 61 or approved equal) in all cracks within the work area (alligator cracking excluded). Crack sealer shall also be applied at all transitions from asphalt to asphalt and asphalt to concrete. Payment will be made based on the lump sum bid price. Bid Item 4 – Fog Sealcoat This bid item shall include, but is not limited to providing labor, materials, equipment, tools, and preparation necessary for the application of a coating of asphalt emulsion to an existing asphalt pavement surface. The fog sealcoat shall be composed of an asphalt emulsion concentrate with no added water. The fog sealcoat shall be applied at a rate of 70 square feet per gallon. Blotting the fog sealcoat with sand after the emulsion breaks may be required depending on product supplied. The asphalt surface shall be cleaned of debris and foreign material prior to application of sealcoat. Oil spots shall be primed as necessary to ensure sealcoat will adhere.
