1. Prepare and file charging documents in misdemeanor and municipal code violation cases as needed. 2. Coordinate scheduling with court staff to ensure speedy resolution of cases. 3. Work with defense attorneys or defendants to determine if pre-trial resolution of cases is appropriate. 4. Appear in court for traffic and municipal code violation hearings. 5. Prepare, interview, and subpoena all necessary witnesses, prepare exhibits, and conduct any necessary legal research. 6. Prepare, review and file motions and stipulated judgments. Documents needing judge’s signature should be prepared in advance. 7. Represent the city’s case to the court through appeal. 8. Communicate with the court and police personnel regarding important law changes and updates in recent case law and impacts thereof. 9. Promptly respond to inquiries made by court or police personnel, defendants, defense attorneys, and Code Enforcement personnel. 10. Adhere to the Oregon Uniform Trial Code Rules and local court rules. 11. Maintain strict confidentiality of Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) printouts.
