Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The Contractor shall develop an equine therapy program focused on addressing PTSD in veterans, and successfully serve a minimum of 25 SCVRD consumers through the program. 2. The Contractor shall not subcontract the services to another provider. 3. The Contractor shall furnish all other supplies, equipment, travel, and services required to perform work under this contract. 4. The Contractor will: a. Provide staff to manage the program: Instructors shall be at a minimum a Licensed Therapist, certification by PATH International (formerly NARHA) or EAGALA is required. b. Provide the facilitation team shall be trained in working with veterans and have cultural competence with a military designed program. c. Provide the résumé or curriculum vitae of each therapist proposed for the Program, including a list of all educational achievements and professional certifications. d. Provide coordination of housing and veterinary care for the horses: Contractor has sole responsibility for providing and caring for the horses. e. Provide suitable training site, equipment, and supplies: Site shall be designed for equine-human interaction (indoor and outdoor), maintaining good repair of all equipment assuring all safety measures are followed. f. Coordinate with SCVRD to generate referrals to the program and arrange and schedule consumer participation in the program: Contractor is responsible for assessing each participant for appropriateness for equine-assisted therapy. g. Provide, prior to services being rendered, provide a curriculum (to include pre- and post- assessments) for review and approval that includes an on-the-ground therapy model that provides strategies and techniques for participants with PTSD to increase their self-awareness, confidence, trust, and improve their communication and relationship skills through interspecies communication with horses. The curriculum will provide a therapy program to cover a four to six weeks period. h. Appropriately match horses with participants to maximize the benefits of the program for each participant. i. Provide weekly progress reports to SCVRD containing, at a minimum, the following information: i. The number of participants served in the equine-assisted therapy program. ii. Specific services rendered to the program participants iii. A template to track services will be provided by SCVRD to document services and additional documentation may be requested as needed.
